So this is Christmas...

Merry Christmas, everybody! I hope you all have had a great day so far (it's 9:30 a.m. here)! The kids are up and playing with their toys. I just finished cutting up the ham that's been cooking overnight. We'll soon start getting cleaned-up to welcome our parents and grandparents in for diner. Life is sweet this morning! The girls (especially Mackenzie) was thrilled to see Butterscotch the horse standing in front of our tree this morning. She must have been especially good for Santa to bring such a great gift! ;) And while all of these wonderful things are occuring right before my eyes, I can't help but think of those who aren't as fortunate this morning. I guess it must come with age; but it takes Christmas to a bittersweet level for me. Let us all take time to remember the birth of our Savior this morning, and to count our blessings in life. Merry Christmas folks.

Finally! Good pics of MY kids!

Picture day at the Byrd House is as challenging as convincing my kids that the dentist is their friend! Why is that? Here I am, a professional photographer; and my own kids are my biggest challenge. Well it turns out, that a lot or pro's will tell you the same thing about their kids. Anyhow, we had a great showing for our efforts yesterday in South Pittsburg. Mackenzie was ready to model (though her suspected ADD made it hard to keep her mind on things) - but Makayla informed me from the time she woke up yesterday morning that she didn't want to get her picture made! Oh well, we managed to get some good ones of her anyhow! So, here are a few; and you can view all 87 images on my website by going to the proofing section and entering the password byrd2.
